ADDEI: KAURAVAS - DEMO
Divide your slime body endlessly in this 2D puzzle platformer!
The ADDEI Project dedicates itself to finding a way for all of humanity to become immortal following the start of a devastating WWIII.
Many chapters of the project, from Tammuz Golem to Osiris Engine all try to seek a cure to death concurrently. Maybe we’ll see the results of these other projects’ experiments someday, but for now, focus your attention to Kauravas, the codename given to the ADDEI chapter set in an underground bunker somewhere under Britain. Here, they’ve tried to genetically modify people to have the ability to undergo mass-mitosis, to essentially clone themselves at will. Here, all of their experiments have failed resulting in just piles of self-replicating goo.
You play as one of these slimes, and right when the scientists in charge about to terminate yet another failure, the facility comes under attack. Bombs from above have cracked open the bunker, and in the chaos of everyone fleeing, you too are granted an opportunity to escape….
ADDEI: KAURAVAS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
Project Description
This project is the intended successor of Michael’s Split university demo. We feel that the unique mechanic has promise, and we’re eager to develop out that mechanic in a game that offers a lot more in terms of story, complex puzzles, more responsive enemy AI, and so on.
Everything is original work except for, course, what the Unity Engine provides such as:
Collision detection and physics
Lighting systems
Rendering systems
And so on
The game offers many standard options for the player in terms of audio, video, gameplay, and more. ADDEI: Kauravas also contains more complex enemy AI, friendly pet AI (with more commands), the core split mechanic, various puzzles that require use of the split mechanic, fun adjustments to the default lighting behavior offered by Unity, many various power-ups, plenty of fun boss puzzles, proper coin collection, and over 20 levels!
The goals for this project are simple:
It’s a mechanical exercise; an opportunity to learn more about programming and game-building in general. A test to sharpen the teams existing skills and grow as developers.
A chance to expand upon existing ideas, and introduce new ones.
An opportunity to actually deliver on writing for a game, rather than just raw mechanics.
