MICHAEL’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOUNDTRACK
Project Description
This project is intended to show off the sound design ability of the team, especially in regards to environmental effects.
All of the sound files and scripts used are original assets, everything else (the engine & art assets) came from Unity & the Unity Store.
The demo contains various audio settings, giving more in-depth attention to things like Unity’s audio mixer, snapshots, and other related options. Also featured is a day/night cycle, teleporters, pop-up event text, lighting options, and of course interactions for choosing a random music piece to play and sound source fall-offs.
The goals for this project were thus:
It was to be a learning exercise mechanically, to try and introduce to us the various audio option the Unity audio mixer has to offer.
Use that newly learned knowledge and skillset to produce an experience of atmospheric sounds evocative of emotion.
We needed to create an environment suited for such an atmospheric sound-scape.
